Jesse James was first rescued from a puppy mill by the National Mill Dog Rescue. As stated on their website, overbreeding, inbreeding, minimal veterinary care, poor quality of food and shelter, lack of socialization with humans, overcrowded cages, and the killing of unwanted animals is an all too common occurance in commercial puppy mills.

Jesse was then taken in by Benji’s Buddies Animal Rescue in Phoenix. I encourage you to visit their website to see all of the loving animals that they are caring for.

Jesse James was one of the lucky ones. Many of these dogs are marked as unwanted after a few weeks on the puppy market and are killed as a result.

It wasn’t too long after he entered Benji’s Buddies that he was spotted on the website by someone who wanted to adopt him. He is now a very happy puppy in a very loving fur-ever home.

Benji’s Buddies Animal Rescue primarily rescues mutts from county shelters and sometimes works with Mill Dog Rescue out of Colorado.
