Betty Briggs was the lucky winning bidder of the February page of the 2010 Arizona Basset Hound Rescue calendar. I have the pleasure of putting this calendar together for AZBHR again this year. Lucky for me, I have already taken photos throughout the year of some of the beautiful dogs that are going to be featured on the pages.
Unfortunately, this month’s page comes with a very sad story. Betty had brought Shannon to me a few months ago because she was getting very old and wasn’t getting around very well anymore. Betty knew that she didn’t have much more time to spend with her and she wanted to have some photos taken that she would be able to look back on after Shannon’s trip to the Rainbow Bridge. A week after Shannon’s photo session, Betty sent me a message letting me know that she had passed.
Betty decided to use the photos from Shannon’s last photo session as a tribute to her good friend. The Valentines theme is very suiting because it is a great symbol of Betty’s undying lover for her.
