I just posted some info about a new book that I am creating that will serve as a dog breed reference, a dog rescue directory and a display of my dog photos. I wanted to give a little closer look on Nutmeg & Jesse because they are beautiful dogs with inspirational stories to tell. I will be sharing the stories of all of the dogs that will be featured in this book on this blog. So, be sure to check back often.

Nutmeg’s Story
(Pictured on the left)
Nutmeg previously lived on a farm. She let her inherent instincts get the best of her one day and hunted down a chicken. The farmer decided to abandon her at a veterinary office because of this. When her foster parents took her in, she was very fearful of men and brooms. It’s hard to say but it appears that she may have been abused. In the care of her foster parents, she has come a long way. She is a dominate female, but loves to play and no longer runs and hides when strangers come over. However, you still can see the fear in her eyes, when a strange male is present.

Jesse’s Story
(Pictured on the right)
Jesse was found running loose by the police on a dangerously hot summer day. When he was taken to the shelter, he was dehydrated, rail thin and sick. Luckily, some very kind-hearted people decided to become foster parents and took Jesse in. When they brought him home, he was very lethargic and just wanted to lay on a pillow outside. After some antibiotics and a lot of love, he started eating and drinking. He foster parent couldn’t bear to part with him and ended up adopting him. He now is very healthy and happy, loves all his foster brothers and sisters and accepts all of the new dogs that come to stay with him and his his best friend… his sister Nutmeg.
