Arizona Basset Hound Rescue’s Calendar Girl

I am starting to work on the 2010 calendar for the Arizona Basset Hound Rescue and Mary Jane is the feature model for the cover. Isn’t she the sweetest thing?

She was rescued from a puppy mill along with the puppies from one of her litters by AZBHR last fall. The poor thing has been through a lot in her life but just like all of the rescue dogs I have met in the past few years, she still has a great attitude. She’s just a little shy.

After AZBHR saved Mary Jane from the puupy mill last fall, they rescued another 22 dogs from another mill in February. Now, they are at it again and they need your help! Please read the message from them below. …

Arizona Basset Hound Rescue NEEDS Your Help to save 13 Bassets from Puppy Mill in Arizona.  You may recall back in February, 2009 AZBHR took in 22 Bassets from a breeder situation in Arizona.  We are glad to report that 21 of the 22 have been adopted out.  The sad news is that there are 13 more from the same breeder that need to come in NOW to AZBHR but our foster homes are FULL.  There is a chance there will be more dogs at a later time so we need everyone to help with fostering, adopting, donating or volunteering to help do home visits and more!
